We work with several big pharma companies and with the biggest players in lab automation.

Global pharmaceutical companies and healthcare suppliers are the testimony to our exceptional service. Our core purpose is to empower our customers and help them improve their production and workflow to continuously improve patient care and security. Since March 2024 Graniten is a part of the XANO Industri AB, xano.se.
We are focused on becoming a business leader in technical solutions and innovations within the scope of manufacturing and engineering. Thus, we continue to stay true to our core values without compromise to achieve:
At Graniten we are proud to have a silvermedal-status in the EcoVadis rating, which is a globally recognized business sustainability rating provider that over 130,000 companies use to assess and improve their sustainability performance. At the moment we are in the top 15% segment of the participating companies.
The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has approved Graniten‘s near-term science-based emissions reduction target, including Business Ambition for 1.5°C.
The SBTi is a collaboration between CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). The SBTi defines and promotes best practice in science-based target setting and independently assesses companies’ targets.
Our history begins in 1992 in Uddevalla, Sweden. We started in the food industry, developing, and building machines for food processing and packaging companies.
In 1998, Graniten acquired the biggest Swedish Pharmaceutical company as a customer. We built our first Casepacker-Palletizer, since then many different versions were sold. This year marked the start of what constitutes our core business today.
Graniten made a huge success in developing food packaging machines in Sweden. Our reputation grew outside the Swedish borders and in 2003 we started selling overseas for the first time to Italy and the U.S.
In 2005, we won the innovation of the year award within the world’s leading food packaging and processing company. During the same year, we opened our 2nd office in Sweden and this time a bit south of the country in Malmö.
Since 2006, we are certified in ISO 9001 and from 2021 we are proud to be certified in ISO 45001 for occupational health and workplace safety.
Healthcare automation kicks off in Graniten. The first PTPs (Pneumatic Tube System to Pharmacy) and ACOs (Automated Carrier Opener) are sold to Norwegian and Swedish hospitals. The PTP attracted great interest from different hospital pharmacies around the world and since then we have installed this machine worldwide (Malta, Australia, Denmark, Norway, Brazil, etc)
In 2011, we became a “Value Provider” to ABB thanks to years of close partnership.
We were a pioneer in integrating the Beckhoff XTS system into our machines in 2014. Today, we use the XTS system in many different machines.
2015 marks the year where we developed the first blow fill seal leak detector for Sweden’s largest pharma manufacturer.
During the years, the pharma industry grew with us. In 2017, we started selling packaging equipment to top big pharma companies in the world. This year marks also the launch of the TS810 Casepacker Palletizer, which is today one of our bestsellers.
Graniten innovates again and develops the last piece for fully automated labs in hospitals; the PTL. Today the PTL is freeing the lab staff from doing repetitive manual work in several hospitals in the Nordics. During the same year, Graniten moves to a new HQ office in Uddevalla and the Graniten 2.0 growth plan kicks off.
In 2020, we launched the Flexline Packaging System, taking flexibility to a new level. Being the first to market, we received a lot of attention from major pharma companies. This solution offers a high degree of flexibility and allows pharma companies to pack small batches efficiently.
During 2021, we delivered the first Digital Pad Printer (DPP) to a large pharma customer. The DPP is the result of a close collaboration between Graniten and Hapa. The DPP enables late-stage customization, reduction of inventory levels and waste, and quick changeover times.
Following years of success and innovation, Graniten takes the next step on its growth journey by extending its head office in Uddevalla, recruiting more talents, and increasing its production space. Our focus will be on expanding our global service network and growing with our partners.
To be continued…
Friday, March 22, marks a strategic move by XANO Industri AB to leverage Graniten's technical expertise for future growth and development within our portfolio.
Under this new partnership, Graniten will continue to accelerate and grow the current business plan that Graniten has developed during recent years, including the innovative Graniten Flexline machine platform.
